New NextMail feature: archive email
Many of you have been asking for archive options for your staff
and student emails in NextMail. Not only have we been listening -
more importantly - we've been developing!
We now have available a prototype of an archive facility that
utilises Studentnet's own networks and servers. This relieves you of
the burden of establishing your own facilities but still giving you
total control. Now your email archive can be economically maintained
in facilities under your own direct control - totally outside of
Google - without your need to expend you own capital or effort.
This email archive feature is an additional option to the document
archiving and backup feature that we introduced earlier this year.
We're very excited about the possibilities that email archiving
allows us to deliver to you and your school. The feature set and
requirements are not yet set in concrete and we'd like to hear your
thoughts on what should and should not be included. We've prepared a
prototype with which you can play to see how it works.
Introductory Webinar: Friday October 28 - put it in your diary!
To introduce you to the new email archive feature, and the
prototype, we're planning a
webinar to be held on
Friday
October 28 at 10:30am. We'd like to spend some time
reviewing the product, how it works and to give you a chance to ask
questions directly of the development team.
This webinar will be the first of a regular series that we'd like to
hold to keep you up to date with our rapidly developing product
line, and also to keep you appraised of new technical developments.
Let us know if you can make it - we'd love to see you there!
Studentnet Nextmail: Finalist at the 2011 ANZIA Awards: Security
& Privacy Category
We are proud to announce that Studentnet's Nextmail has been
chosen as a finalist at the
2011 ANZIA Awards in the
Security & Privacy category.
Quoting from the 2011 ANZIA finalists announcement:
"The quality and variety of entries received this year has been
simply inspiring, with many entrants making significant
contributions to the development of the Internet in Australia and
New Zealand.
The 2011 ANZIAs attracted twice the number of entries received in
2010, and following a difficult deliberation process, the
following organisations have been shortlisted as finalists. "
Studentnet is proud to be included in the list of finalists amongst
such well respected organisations as F-Secure, Telstra and the NZ
Dept of Internal Affairs. The full list of finalists can be found
here.
Studentnet believes that this public recognition is an important
endorsement of the dedication that we have placed in furthering the
Security & Privacy objectives of our client schools. We know
that Security & Privacy are of paramount importance to your
extended community of school users. We believe that the public
acknowledgement of the success of our efforts is an important asset
that you can promote to your management, your users, and your
extended community of parents and students.
Wish us luck in the final to be announced on October 17!
Best Regards
The Studentnet Team
